So I checked back today and the NWTekno link is gone. Checked brown paper tickets (BPT) and it is still listed there. Email user on listed on BPT and got a failure notice. Googled it and found it posted on another site for the next day but at this point it seems kinda sketch. I will try the site for at door tickets when I can see that the event is real. Just a warning.

Way back in 2001 Portland started receiving U-Scan™ machines in there stores. This is common place now in many retails stores and after 7+ Years of these machines people still don’t know how to use them. Picture this if you will. You are walking up to the U-Scan at approximately 10PM at night. In my neighborhood this is not prime shopping time and all four U-Scan™ Machines are in use. One gentleman scanned and item, is still holding it, and trying to scan another item and wondering why it is not scanning. The machine is informing him at this time he needs to place the last item in the bag. He is white, American and you can tell by looking at him that English is his first language. This gentleman will continue to stare at the screen dumbfounded for the duration of my shopping experience. At another device the couple, yes both of the, can not figure out that they need to hit the ATM – Debit button at the pay screen after sliding there card and putting in there pin to finish there transaction. The will also still be here for the full duration of my shopping experience stuck at this step. There as yet one more customer that is arguing over $0.50 or his life cereal and will also be here the remainder of my trip. I end up waiting for the other customer with a full cart to finish her entire purchase so I could buy 5 items and go home. Before the invent of these wonderful U-Scan™ machines we had the club card. I found someone the very next day holding un another line as they did not understand that you need the card, and it is free, and they will give it to you there on the spot to receive the advertised special. Are the modern innovations of shopping too much for today’s society? I am going to have to say, in Vancouver WA, Yes... They are.

I don't drive over the pass often. This is a maybe 3 times a year event. It just seems everytime that I do make this trek father winter decides that he needs to shoot his frosty load at what ever pass I decide to take. My last adventure made a couple hour trip like 5 hours and left me with a cracked windshield. The following if from the news:

OK, I have picked a date for my hikeing adventure. Now I need company and a trail to be selected. From those whom I have talked to it looks like this will be a forest hike and I will probably do the beach a few weeks later if I am not dead or still lost from the previous trip. If you are interested in going let me know as we can't take any more then 12 per the rules. I have a few confirmed so far. 6ish I think. Also, if you have a min google for the trails and let me know what interests you so we can decided. =^.^=

Now that the rainier season is almost over, I am ready for some fun in the sun. What I am planning is a trip to the Olympic national forest for a 4-8 mile hike and camping for anyone that is interested in such an adventure. Looks like they do allow fires and we can do a more forestey type hike or a beach type hike. If anyone is interested in joining on this adventure, just let me know. I was thinking early June and maybe do this a few times throughout the summer in different locations. I am still looking into what trials interest me and I will post them when I have decided.

I head something about this a while ago and thought that it had fizzled out. I guess that I was wrong. So for those of you that have not heard about AOLs new plan to make you pay to send emails to AOLs email users you have now. From how I understand this it works that if you don't pay AOL your messages might or might not get through. But if you pay the email tax you can send pretty much what ever you want. Granted I only know a few people that use AOL for anything other then IMing people but I don't want to see other providers using the same strategy and this hurts most groups that have some type of listserv as anyone on that list might or might not get group messages. If you have a moment of free time there is a group that is forming a coalition and starting an email / phone campaign to prevent this. If you are interested in calling them Call 1-703 265 1000. So, I got bored and wanted sushi. Problem is I can't afford it nor can you afford to buy the makings. Solution...... use what ya got ^^ I found Nori, Chicken, rice, Teriyaki, Broccoli, Carrots and Tamari. It was strange yet satisfying.

So, I have not posted much as of late. As most of you know I am temporarily unemployed again. How am I holding up through this? Well I found a comic that details out my situation better then I could at the moment.



Anyways, I am just letting everyone know I am not dead. Just in poor unemployed hermit mode. Hopefully I will get to see some of you this weekend for some drunken mario kart MADNESS!!!
